Our first meetup was a success! Great music, fun photoshoot, delicious food and even free makeup! THE EDIT was such a fun event.
Creative director and photographer, Aminah McKenzie planned the event to be a fun and inviting space
for every person who came to THE EDIT. With such fun colors, disco balls and beautiful jewelry from
Dawnda.Lorudes, Aminah wanted to make sure that it was a space where everyone can feel free and inspired.
Education is such an important part of photography! THE EDIT wants to provide
knowledge that every participate can apply to their art and business.
Taylor Brumfield shared the importance to business
structure and gave incredible insight on running a
photography business and how to get high paying jobs
. Taylor inspired so many people at THE EDIT and gave
great insight on the things we really need to know in
order to have a successful business.
Joshua Maclin showed us how to get gorgeous lighting
with a one light set up. This was great because the
photographers at the event were just starting out and
wanted to know more about studio lighting.
Joshua also shared tips and tricks on reflectors,
equipment insurance and so much more!
Our dream glam team was amazing! Beautiful hair by Taniiah Lewis and amazing makeup by Chelsea Marie.
Huge thank you to our sponsors for our first event. Fashion Fair x Black Opal are black owned beauty brands that
caters to black and brown women. It was such an honor to have them apart of this event.
Our photoshoot session was such a hit!
Each photographer had 10 minutes
to capture THE EDIT’s models.
It was so fun being able to see
everyone happy and excited
about their photos and sharing
them with each other and even our sponsors.
This was a great way for everyone to share what
they loved and support each others art.
The next day was a great way to end the event. Food, music, drinks and just chill vibes. It was nice to chat and eat witheach other and getting to know each other a bit more after day 1.
